‘We are at War’
Revelation: 12: 13 -17.
Psalm: 40: 11- 17
Mark. 7:1 – 23.
In our gospel today our Lord is making light of the customs of the Jews how they had all
of these customs and practices and all this external things they did. And then our Lord
goes into the litany of the things that defile a person. What defiles a person that comes
from within. And our Lord gives a list of thirteen things. For out of the heart proceed evil
thoughts, sexual Immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit,
lustful desires, envy, slander, fornication, blasphemies and we can add to the list. ….
electronic addictions: smart phones, social media. You fill in the blanks.
What creates the opportunity, And I want to take this, I am going to break from the
Scripture. Do we keep God’s commandment as our priority or do we cling on to human
traditions and I am going to base a questions to determine that. I am going to ask a
question.
Are we Canadian Catholics or Catholic Canadians? What is the difference. If we are an
Canadian Catholics, my Canadian identity, my citizenship here, my life here on earth,
my political views, the things I enjoy those things a kind of dictate the way that I live my
catholic life. Catholicism becomes one of many among my Canadian identity among all
other identity. But if I am a Catholic Canadian, my citizenships here on earth, my way of
life is animated or guided by my citizenship in heaven, by my virtue, by honoring God
first, by my way of repentance and so on…. A Canadian Catholic who walks around d in
luke warmness, would say, ‘Oh we just have to say our prayers, God is in control’.
Where as a Catholic Canadian would say, ‘No things are not ok, things are actually
terrible, souls are falling into hell…..Literary this list what we have, many in our
culture today hold virtuous. Picking and choosing and living out this list contrary to
God’s commandments.
I started making a list of things and it gets so big and so dense and I gave-up. You are
watching the news, you are familiar what is going on around the world. We are at war.
This is not my observations. This is what the Sacred scripture tells us ‘We are at war’. A
great war breaks out in heaven. Read Book of Revelation:12:13 – 17, the scripture
reads,“ So when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued
the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two
wings of the great eagle, so that she could fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to her
place where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. Then from his mouth
the serpent poured water like a river after the woman, to sweep her away with the flood.
But the earth came to the help of the woman; it opened its mouth and swallowed the river
that the dragon had poured from his mouth”. And then Revelation 12: 17 says like this
‘Then the dragon was angry with the woman, and went off to make war on the rest
of her children, those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony
of Jesus”.
The scripture reads, woman clothed with the … a great war breaks out in heaven, then the
devil became angry with the women and wind off to make war on the rest of her
offspring…… Those who keep the commandments of God and bear testimony to Jesus
are children of Blessed Virgin Mary. So for us Mary is Our Mother. What about the
Baptist church / Pentecostal church, down the street or the ‘Happy – Clappy church’.
They have a mother that they never met.
It is clear in the scripture, that the devil has made war against us. When some one
declares war on you they will come after you. And we don’t avoid playing war saying
‘No I am not going to play war today, no I am not going to play war’. When someone
declares war on you they are coming after you. One of the models in the military is that
we never want to have fair fight. We also want to have advantage. And the devil want to
have the same mentality, he is going to look same mentality to destroy you and your soul.
We cannot avoid war. The example of Russian invasion on Ukraine that is going on
since couple of days now. Our brothers and sisters in Ukraine are going through hard
times. We need to pray for them. We need to pray God everyday to put an end to the
devastating situation and end this catastrophe. So we have to recognize that the church is
a ship and it is a war ship, a warship that is seized. We need to fight the enemy. We want
all to win and not just winning. We want to dominate. That is what I love being a
Catholic, we need to dominate and overthrow the evil. Let’s go, Let’s go, let’s face our
game on today. We need that fire in our heart. To say what is going to take us today.
When we have breakfast in silence, someone say’s to me Good morning father and how
are you today, And I say ‘I am tired of saving souls’.
What can we do to save souls today? I am going to wash the dishes today for the
salvation of souls. As if I am wiping the sins of souls. Again how do we fight? my
brothers and sisters, I submit to you, if we just live ‘Willy- Nilly catholic existence’, we
are not in the fight, we are there helping a little bit, but we are not actually involved in the
fight. If you want to grow your muscles or cut down your weight, you use some
strategies, you have a plan for exercise. What is your daily Plan of prayer as a Catholic
Canadians? we all need to have a daily plan of prayer. We always say that we want to
give our best to God. Do you have a concrete plan for prayer, for fasting and other
spiritual exercises. When is your best time, when can you give God your best.
Some of us are morning people and we get up early and praise God. Some of us get up
late and we look at the sky and say, ‘thank you God for yet another day’. Those of you
are not morning people when can you give your best prayer to God. What is God
expecting from you. Do we fast, when I talk about fasting, I mean giving up a single
meal per day/ to forgo cream on your coffee/instead of having a soda just having a
tea……But do you take fasting seriously as a strong spiritual weapon?
EWTN created a website on the dedicated to the 100 th anniversary of the apparition of
Our Lady of Fatima. It is a fantastic website. And it goes through. And I want to
encourage you and your family to read this message, This message I am giving you is

believe, do not adore, do not trust, an do not love Thee’.
O Most Holy Trinity, I adore Thee, My God, My God, I love Thee in the Most Blessed
Sacrament.
O My Jesus, it is for love o Thee, in reparation for the offenses committed against the
Immaculate Heart of Mary and for the conversion of poor sinners.
And he taught them this prayer to say often, So we should take this prayer and say it as
often as we can. Or have our own version of prayer. In every way offer sacrifice to God
for the sins that He is offened.
Later in the year 1960 , the angel of Portugal appeared and begged them to pray, you
need to pray. In this way you will bring peace to our country. If we have a culture, if we
develop a Canadian Catholic church, all that God is offended, this group here, can

We are under seize e and a relentlessly under attack of the diabolic enemy the satan but
our strength comes from God from above. And it is the power of God, that we comes
from heaven. Have a great zeal for soul. To wake up early everyday and go for work.
If we develop a Catholic Canadian culture, this grow ups, here we can bring peace to
earth. We are the warriors, we are have grace that God has given us. 1960, the angel
appeared and give them another prayer,… So the angel asked them to offer perpetual
sacrifices for the atonement of sinners and for the conversion of sinners. We want to end
this war, we want to end this global manipulation.
It is Our Blessed Mother Mary who is leading us, She is our commander, She is a great
warrior. The question is are we going to sit back and watch or are we going to get into
work. My soul is more important then those I love, those I hate. Make that commitment
today , to pray the rosary daily. At least once a day. Wear the brown scapular. What are
the small ways you can exercise self-denial, that’s what this small children of age 7, 9
and 10 did.
It is the power of God, and when we engage with our enemy and fight bodily against the
evil forces with these weapons of prayer, fasting and Almsgiving we will be victories.
Always have a great zeal for soul. Have a prayer every and go to work.
